Key Responsibilities
- Design systems to safely, efficiently, and effectively transport drinking water and/or wastewater to and from end users, including pumping and storage projects.
- Assist senior design staff in designing water and/or wastewater treatment plant projects.
- Review and analyze drainage systems for stormwater or floodplains to ensure safety of the ecosystem and public; design necessary conveyance systems to safeguard the area.
- Assess the need for drinking water and/or wastewater treatment systems based on current and projected future population and/or development demands; conduct feasibility studies for the construction of public utility infrastructure to meet identified needs.
- Analyze various water and/or wastewater treatment technologies, and recommend the most effective method.
- Design and develop specifications for various pumping and force main systems.
- Collaborate with contractors and government agencies regarding construction of assigned projects.
- Ensure design and equipment specifications comply with applicable guidelines and codes.
- Conduct feasibility studies regarding water or wastewater collection, treatment, or distribution, and prepare technical reports.
- Provide clients with technical support and expertise on water resources issues.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for projects.
- Align with marketing team on RFPs, presentations, and project scoping.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer registration.
- Experience designing water treatment plants is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in public infrastructure projects related to Water Resources.
- Project and client management experience.
- Ability to guide junior staff and participate in design and detailing of water projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative.
- Detail-oriented team player.
