Job summary

Pennoni Associates Inc. seeks a Water Resources Engineer to join the Lehigh Valley, PA office. The role focuses on H&H, drainage and stormwater design for multiple clients across the Mid-Atlantic, with strong opportunities in Pennsylvania and nearby states.

The ideal candidate has a BSCE, 5–12 years’ experience, and FE/EIT; PE preferred. Proficiency with PondPack, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, HY-8 and AutoCAD/MicroStation is required; excellent communication and project teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • BSCE degree required.

  • 5–12 years of water resources engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and stormwater design.
  • Experience with plan production via AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Experience with DOT projects is a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication; detail oriented.

Job Description

Pennoni is currently seeking a Water Resources/H&H Engineer to work in our Lehigh Valley, (Bethlehem) PA office with the following job responsibilities:

  • Engineer will support H&H, ES&C, drainage and SWM tasks associated with projects for multiple clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region with a focus in Pennsylvania and the opportunity to provide design work to surrounding states.
  • At a minimum the engineer will interact with internal staff and clients regarding the development and design of projects.
  • Engineer will be responsible for the development of project plans, and the associated technical reports, quantities, and specifications. If task or project management is an aspiration then the opportunity to manage tasks/projects scope, schedule, and budget will be provided.
  • Perform occasional field data collection and site visits.
  • This position will offer diversified projects and assignments with different clients.
Required Attributes
  • Required Education: BSCE
  • FE/EIT, PE Preferred
  • Years of work experience: 5-12 years in water resources engineering.
  • Proficiency with hydrologic/hydraulic (H&H) modeling of natural systems and stormwater collection systems, floodplain management and modeling, culvert and bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, erosion and sediment control design, drainage design, stormwater management design, plan review and plan and report preparation.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as PondPack, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, HY-8, and Watershed Modeling System.
  • Experience with plan production via AutoCAD and MicroStation with design experience (3D modeling) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with PennDOT, PA Turnpike, DelDOT, MDSHA, VDOT and/or DCDOT is a plus.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are a must for preparation of project reports, specifications, studies, and other engineering documents.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment.
