Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks an Assistant Staff Water Resources Engineer with an interest in hydrology, hydraulics, flood modeling, and water resources engineering. Recent graduates or soon-to-be graduates with a degree in civil, environmental, biological, or coastal engineering are encouraged to apply.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits and a hybrid work option. The position is based in Raleigh, NC, with flexible hybrid work within driving distance of Raleigh,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Biological, Civil, Environmental or Coastal) is required.
Experience or willingness to learn HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, ArcGIS, Python and other hydrologic/hydraulic modeling is desired.
Relevant summer internship or co-op experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Supports development of engineering designs for water resources projects and collaborates with senior engineers.
Performs field investigations and collects data.
Supports preparation of technical reports and ensures documentation meets standards.
Assists in permitting and regulatory approvals with project teams.
Performs construction oversight and ensures adherence to specifications.
