Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks an Assistant Staff Water Resources Engineer in Raleigh, NC, with a focus on hydrology, hydraulics, flood modeling, and watershed planning. Recent graduates with Civil, Environmental, Biological, or Coastal Engineering degrees are encouraged to apply; exposure to GIS, Python, or R is a plus.

Hybrid work is available within driving distance of Raleigh, with occasional project-site travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Biological, Civil, Environmental, or Coastal)
• Experience or willingness to learn HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, ArcGIS, Python
• Relevant summer internship or co-op experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports development of engineering analyses for water resources projects.
• Performs field investigations and data verification.
• Prepares technical reports and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Assists in permitting and regulatory approvals.
• Engages in modeling to inform designs and evaluate scenarios.
