Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water / Wastewater Engineer to join our South Carolina Water Business Group in Columbia. You will provide project engineering and task management, and conduct hydraulic/hydrologic modeling.

Responsibilities include design calculations, preparation of plans and specs for detention facilities and storm drains, and leading technical reporting. PE licensure and 3+ years in water resources are preferred; MS degree is a plus. Local candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Active participant in our employee‑owned culture is a must

Responsibilities

• Provide project engineering and task management; conduct hydraulic and hydrologic modeling
• Conduct stormwater collection systems modeling; collect, assimilate and present data in reports/memos
• Lead design calculations and reports; prepare plans and specifications for detention facilities and storm drains
• Work independently and manage groups of professionals and technicians on projects
• Conduct water resources planning and permit efforts
