Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking an entry- to mid-level Water Resources Engineer to join our Richmond, Vermont team. You will work on dam removal, floodplain restoration, flood mitigation, stormwater, and bridge/culvert design with a diverse group of engineers.

The role requires familiarity with hydrology and hydraulic modeling, GIS mapping, and CAD drafting. Fieldwork and occasional travel are part of the job, with a strong emphasis on timely technical reporting and client collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
0 to 6 years' experience in water resource design.
Experience applying hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and GIS tools (ArcGIS Pro).
EIT or PE certification preferred.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and technical writing is a plus.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for fieldwork.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering design and develop technical drawings using GIS and AutoCAD for water resource projects.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and modeling.
Collect monitoring data and perform field observations in rivers and floodplains.
Provide technical support for analysis and design of water resources projects.
Prepare technical documents, reports, and maps using GIS.
Contribute to project management and teamwork, mentored by senior staff.
