Job summary

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects in El Paso, Texas, seeks a Water Resources Engineer with 4–10 years of experience to support its Water Resources Group. You will perform analysis and design as a Project Engineer on municipal water resources projects and assist other divisions as needed.

Responsibilities include leading project engineering tasks, supervising junior staff, conducting stormwater modeling, hydrologic studies, and sediment transport analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Master's degree with emphasis in Hydrology and/or Hydraulics preferred.
• 4-10 years of professional experience in water resource study, design, and construction administration.
• Texas Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 6 months.

• Conduct stormwater collection systems modeling and design.
• Perform floodplain, inundation, and hydrologic studies.
• Perform sediment transport and scour analyses to support water resources projects.
• Assist in water resources permitting efforts.
• Collect, evaluate, and present data in technical reports and presentations.
• Assist in preparation of plans for detention facilities, storm drains, and hydraulic structures.
• Work independently and with multidisciplinary teams of geomorphologists, biologists, planners, and other water resources engineers.
• Contribute to business development, marketing, and proposal preparation efforts.

Job description

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is currently seeking aWater ResourcesEngineer with 4-10 years of experience to support our Water Resources Group in our El Paso office. As part of our team, you will perform analysis and design as a Project Engineer on difficult to complex water resource-related projects for our municipal clients and support the work of other divisions within the firm as requested.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide project engineering and task management on water resources design projects.
• Supervise and delegate work to junior engineers and support staff as necessary to manage specific hydraulic engineering tasks within larger complex projects.
• Conduct stormwater collection systems modeling and design.
• Perform floodplain, inundation, and hydrologic studies.
• Perform sediment transport and scour analyses to support water resources projects.
• Assist in water resources permitting efforts.
• Collect, evaluate, and present data in technical reports and oral presentations.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans and specifications for design of detention facilities, storm drains, flood control facilities and other hydraulic structures.
• Work independently and within multidisciplinary teams of geomorphologists, biologists, planners, emergency managers, and additional hydraulic and water resources engineers.
• Contribute to business development, marketing, and proposal preparation efforts.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering
• Master's degree in with an emphasis in Hydrology and/or Hydraulics (or related) is preferred.
• 4-10 years of increasingly responsible, professional experience in the study, design, and construction administration of water resource-related projects
• Texas Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain within 6 months

Annual Salary Range: $100,000 - $135,000+ depending on experience
