Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking a Natural Resources Water Educator to design, deliver, and evaluate research-based educational programming in Wood County. The role focuses on partnerships with farmers, watershed groups, educators, and local officials to advance water resource solutions.

Responsibilities include delivering education on water quality and conservation, coordinating watershed initiatives, and connecting communities with resources and Extension expertise.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of work experience related to the program responsibilities.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
• Knowledge of water resources, watersheds, groundwater, water quality, and conservation practices.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with community members, schools, government agencies, nonprofits, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• May assist with monitoring outreach program budget spending.
• Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics for outreach programs.
• Leads implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through day-to-day oversight of staff and volunteers.
• Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members.
• Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials.
• Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program.
• Communicates plans, activities, and achievements to Program Managers and stakeholders.
• Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides improvement recommendations.
