Job summary

DOWL is seeking a Water Resources Designer 1 in Reno, NV to support the Surface Water Group on irrigation canals, dams, drainage systems, and river engineering projects. You will assist with hydrologic analysis, design drafts, and field investigations under licensed professional engineer guidance.

The role emphasizes learning and growth, with exposure to 2D/3D design, modeling tools, and collaboration across teams on meaningful water management challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is required.
• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is preferred.
• EIT/EI certification is required within 6 months of hire.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Support basic design tasks for water resource projects.
• Assist with site investigations and design calculations.
• Produce technical reports, figures, and exhibits under supervision.
• Contribute to cost estimates and construction plans.
• Assist in analyses using hydraulic and hydrologic models.
• Support adherence to project budgets and schedules.
