Job summary

Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Southwest District, seeks a Seasonal Environmental Intern for Fall 2026 to assist with regulatory support and data tasks at wastewater facilities.

You will collect and summarize wastewater data for PTI applications, review plans for completeness, organize permit data, and prepare reports for staff. This role offers hands-on experience in environmental permitting and field observations.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a college degree program related to the position or have recently graduated.
• Major area of study includes Environmental Science, Water Resources, Chemistry or Engineering.
• Knowledge of safety practices, agency policies and permits as applicable.
• Skills in word processing and database work.

Responsibilities

• Collecting and summarizing wastewater data for PTI applications.
• Reviewing PTI applications and plans for completeness and accuracy.
• Compiling and organizing data for wastewater discharge permits.
• Preparing reports and tabulating technical information for staff and decision-makers.
• Assisting with field inspections at wastewater treatment plants to observe operations.
