Job summary

Ohio Environmental Protection Agency in Dayton seeks a Seasonal Environmental Intern for the Division of Surface Water. The role supports wastewater data collection, PTI evaluation, and permit documentation in a part‑time, fall 2026 internship.

Three positions are available; duties include data analysis, report preparation, and field documentation to assist regulatory staff across the state. Compensation is $16.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a college degree program related to the position or have recently graduated.
• Environmental Science, Water Resources, Chemistry or Engineering listed as majors.
• Familiarity with safety practices, agency policies and permits.
• Proficient with computers for word processing and data management.

Responsibilities

• Collect and summarize wastewater data for PTI applications and assist staff.
• Review PTI applications for completeness and compliance with rules.
• Compile data for wastewater discharge permits and support regulatory processes.
• Prepare reports and tabulate technical information for decision makers.
• Assist with field inspections and document permit compliance.
