Job summary

HDR seeks a Water Resources Coordinator to support design engineering and modeling for water resource projects at municipal, state, and federal levels. You will contribute to hydraulics/hydrology modeling, data collection, and presentations under the guidance of project engineers.

The role emphasizes independent work within an employee-owned culture, collaboration with a project team, and producing technical reports and calculations for flood control and river design initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and with a project team to completion of tasks.
  • Active participant in an employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Work under project engineers to apply design engineering and modeling techniques for water resource projects.
  • Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater systems modeling, data collection and presentations.
  • Handle projects including flood control, river design, levees, restoration, and watershed issues.
  • Produce design calculations and draft technical reports.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Water Resources Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  • Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state and local municipalities
  • Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations
  • Focus on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non-point source loading and point source design.
  • Produce design calculations, draft technical reports and perform water resources studies
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
