Brown and Caldwell(BC)isseeking aUtah-basedwater resources leader to help clients address some of the region's most pressing water challenges. As alocalClient Growth Leaderin Water Resources, you will serve as a trusted advisor to water conservancy districts, municipalities, wastewater agencies, and state organizations, helping them navigate issues related towater supply reliabilityand rights, climate resilience, population growth, resource sustainability, and long-term planning.

Based out ofour Salt Lake Office (hybrid/remote from Utah available), this role will provide strategic leadership on integrated water resources planning efforts, including evaluating the interconnected impacts of water management decisions on water suppliesand demands, infrastructure, environmental resources, and the Great Salt Lake. The successful candidate willmaintaina strong pulse on emerging water issues through active engagement withclients,industry organizations, regional partnerships, and professional committees, helping clientsanticipatechallenges andidentifyopportunities.Youwillleadproject pursuitefforts, provide technical directionon important and innovative water resourcesprojects, and mentorstaff.

Beyond technical leadership, you will help connect the dots between water resources needs and BC’s broaderwater resources,water, wastewater, reuse, treatment, conveyance, and environmental practicesand personnel. Working closely with Client Service Managers and technical leaderssupporting these practices, you will bring the rightexpertiseto our clients' most important challenges while helping grow and strengthen long-term partnerships

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute a multi-year client growth strategy aligned with BC and client businessobjectives.
  • Develop and advance theclientbusiness case, including revenue targets, service expansion, and positioning milestones.
  • Secure and deliver profitable work while managingriskexposure.
  • Lead the performance of the full client portfolio (projects and pursuits) to achieve revenue, margin, and backlog targets.
  • Maintainutilizationaligned with portfolio expectations.
  • Provide regular performance calibration with Business Unit and Area/Market leadership.
  • Build and lead an engaged, high-performing Client Service Team (CST) with clear accountability.
  • Coordinate resources across business lines and engage SMEs to expand service breadth.
  • Mentor developing team members and model effective client leadership.
  • Expand relationships across client functional areas and leadership levels.
  • Translate client insights and market intelligence into actionable growth strategies.
  • Serve as Sales Leader on key pursuits; evaluate opportunities and develop win strategies.
  • Maintainaccurateclient data and apply governance between CSM and PM roles to ensure unified client messaging and delivery alignment.
  • Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.
  • May provide mentorship, guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to help less experienced team members develop their skills and grow within their roles.

Experience

  • Typically, a minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental engineering and consulting industry with progressive responsibilities including marketing and business development.

Preferred Experience

  • Professionallicensure.
  • 15+years of experience in environmental engineering and consulting industry with progressive responsibilities including marketing and business development.
  • Technical background in engineering, hydrology, watershed science, hydrogeology, ora relateddiscipline.
  • Demonstrated success delivering and growing water resources consulting services for municipal water providers, water conservancy districts, and related agencies, preferably in Utah, Colorado, or throughout the Colorado River Basin.
  • Prior experience leading water supply planning, integrated water resource planning, or resilience planning efforts.
  • Experience in water demand forecasting, climate change adaptation, scenario planning, and water supply reliability assessments.
  • Knowledge of surface water allocation models, groundwater models, and water rights considerations.
  • Understanding of regional water infrastructure systems and interconnectedness including reservoirs, conveyance, treatment, and environmental permitting.
  • Experience collaborating with water providers, conservancy districts, and state agencies.
  • Applicants with broader integrated water resource and demand planning expertise, or project management experience, will be strongly considered.
  • Strong communicationand stakeholder engagement skills.

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, sales, or equivalent experience isrequired.

Salary Range: The anticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
