Role Description

A growing engineering team is seeking a Civil Engineer (PE) to join their Water Resources group. This role involves direct client interaction and is responsible for planning and organizing workflow, providing technical oversight on various project components, overseeing the preparation of design calculations, details, and specifications, as well as conducting plan reviews and modifications.

In this position, you will prepare calculations, contribute to studies, and develop practical solutions in areas such as stormwater management, flood risk assessment, mapping, and mitigation. You’ll have opportunities to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with professionals across different disciplines to deliver integrated project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering calculations and assist with studies related to stormwater management and flood risk.
  • Conduct field assessments and document findings in technical reports.
  • Assist with or lead the preparation of technical proposals.
  • Lead or support client meetings, including developing agendas and managing follow-up tasks.
  • Perform quality control reviews on technical documents and designs.
  • Collaborate with professionals from other practice areas on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Provide mentoring and leadership within the team; contribute to knowledge-sharing and professional development efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 4–8 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Ohio, or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Proficiency in modeling software such as HydroCAD and HEC-RAS.
  • Strong technical writing skills, particularly for engineering reports.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on water resources.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and GIS tools to support engineering design and enhance stormwater/floodplain studies.
