Job summary

Athens-Clarke County is seeking a Water Reclamation Operator to operate a water pollution control plant and assist in maintenance. Responsibilities include monitoring processes, sampling, and maintaining records. Shifts cover 24/7, with potential for weekend/holiday work.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and a state wastewater treatment license within one year. Prior wastewater experience is preferred and a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of wastewater treatment guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to operate plant equipment and computer systems.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize daily assignments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor treatment processes and adjust as needed based on current conditions.
• Collect wastewater samples and perform standard tests (DO, S.S., pH, chlorine).
• Operate and tend pumps, blowers, feeders, centrifuges, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain daily logs, test results, and plant operation records.
• Ensure proper sample collection and chemical additions for shifts.
