Job summary

The University Corporation at Monterey Bay seeks a Water Quality & Remote Sensing Research Scientist to lead validation of satellite-based water quality tools and contribute to NASA ARSET trainings. The role collaborates with NASA Ames and CSUMB, performing in situ data collection, processing, and analysis.

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree and have strong writing and presentation skills to publish papers and develop proposals.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in a closely related field.
• Experience publishing scientific manuscripts.
• Experience with NASA Earth observation data and remote sensing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with content creation for online NASA ARSET trainings.
• Conduct background research for training topics and prepare presentations.
• Support training promotion and respond to participant questions.
• Perform water quality and remote sensing validation field work and data analysis.
• Publish research results and contribute to proposals and reports.
