Job summary

CK is seeking a Water Quality Consultant to join our team in The Woodlands, Texas. You will tackle regulatory challenges, build client relationships, and own projects that make an impact across Texas and the Gulf Coast.

The role offers growth toward project management and mentoring junior staff, with an emphasis on practical environmental solutions and collaboration with engineers, scientists, and geologists. A hybrid work model is available to support project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, or a related scientific discipline.
• 3+ years of environmental consulting experience with water quality permitting, compliance, or related projects.
• Experience with water quality permitting, industrial wastewater, stormwater, groundwater, surface water monitoring, or environmental sampling.
• Working knowledge of the Clean Water Act and TPDES/NPDES permitting programs.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional client service.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support water quality permitting and compliance projects from planning through completion.
• Prepare permit applications, compliance reports, technical memoranda, and regulatory correspondence.
• Coordinate and conduct water quality, groundwater, stormwater, and wastewater monitoring programs and field investigations.
• Evaluate environmental data and develop technical analyses and recommendations.
• Coordinate with clients, laboratories, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables with increasing independence.
• Build trusted relationships with clients by delivering practical, high-quality environmental solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, geologists, and other technical professionals on multidisciplinary projects.
• As experience grows, take on increasing responsibility for project management, client development, mentoring junior staff, and business development.
