Job summary

American Water in Short Hills, New Jersey invites applications for a Water Quality Internship. This role focuses on supporting staff with service line material record research for lead and galvanized service replacements, while gaining hands-on lab exposure and field sampling experience.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an Environmental Science, Chemistry or Biology undergraduate degree program from an accredited school.

Responsibilities

• Implement the day-to-day collection of water quality samples.
• Prepare samples for UPS shipment to laboratory.
• Perform wet chemistry analyses such as Hardness, Alkalinity, Turbidity and Flow Cam.
• Conduct & monitor lead and copper sampling.
• Assist in report preparation and lead and copper results to customer.
• Assist in day-to-day operation and maintenance of laboratory.

Education

Enrollment in Environmental Science, Chemistry or Biology undergraduate degree program

The base salary range represents a good faith salary range for this position. The expected pay range for this position is between $18.00 per hour and $28.00per hour. If you are hired at American Water your compensation will be determined based on factors such as market, geography, skills, candidate's programyear, discipline, and degree. Primary Role
