Job summary

The Scottsdale Water Quality Lab has an excellent opportunity for a college student to get hands on experience in a state-of-the-art environmental laboratory performing analytical testing. This part time Intern position provides general laboratory support to the Senior and Principal Scientists in the Water Quality Laboratory.

The intern will work approximately 20 hours per week, three to five days per week (Mon-Fri). These hours are during the day.

• Must be currently enrolled or recently graduated within a year from an accredited college or university degree program in a field related to the department in which assigned.
• Preferences may vary depending on job assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide general laboratory support to the Senior and Principal Scientists in the Water Quality Laboratory.
• Assist with analytical testing and routine lab tasks to support daily operations.
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a clean, organized laboratory workspace.

About the Position

Please note

• This is a stand-alone job classification and has no supervisory responsibilities.
• Due to this position being part-time, the classification is unclassified, meaning it is at-will and serves at the discretion of the City.
• This position has limited benefits.

Anticipated starting salary for this position will be $20.69/hour.
