Qualifications

• Valid Washington State driver’s license.
• Water Distribution System certification within 1 year of hire.
• Flagger certification within 1 year of hire.
• First Aid certification within 1 year of hire.
• Cross Connection Certification (CCS) within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs water sampling per DOH regulations, EPA, and the Safe Drinking Water Act; records and maintains all water quality sampling records.
• Prepares and organizes sample bottles and tracking documents; collects samples from wells, distribution systems, and water treatment facilities.
• Delivers samples to the laboratory; ensures documentation is complete and correct; monitors sampling schedules daily.
• Inspects sample sites and performs repairs or upgrades as needed.
• Flushes distribution systems and maintains flushing records; responds to inquiries about water quality.
• Operates and maintains chlorine pumps; handles hazardous materials; monitors chlorine residuals.
