Job summary

Alabama Power Company is seeking a qualified candidate for its Environmental Affairs, Compliance Studies and Accounting group at the APC General Service Complex in Calera, AL. The role blends hands-on field work, project management and data analysis to ensure regulatory water discharge compliance at Generation facilities.

The position can be entry to senior level depending on skills. A strong work ethic and aptitude for learning are essential, with opportunities to become accredited as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alabama is a plus or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience with water regulations and environmental compliance is valued.

Responsibilities

• Interpret regulations and permit requirements to identify potential risk areas.
• Design, execute, and evaluate environmental study plans for wastewater systems.
• Diligently review data and clearly present results to stakeholders.
• Become an accredited sampler in the departmental quality system.
