Job summary

Alabama Power Company is seeking an Environmental Studies Engineer to support Compliance Studies and monitor water quality regulations at generation facilities. The role combines hands-on field work with data analysis and project management, contributing to compliant wastewater systems and regulatory reporting.

Ideal candidates will have a BS in engineering (environmental, civil or chemical) and a penchant for innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (environmental, civil, chemical) or related field required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alabama is a plus or ability to obtain licensure.
• Knowledge of water regulations (ELG, NPDES, CCR) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Interpret regulations and permit requirements to identify risk areas.
• Design, execute, and evaluate environmental study plans for wastewater systems.
• Review data and clearly present results to stakeholders.
• Become an accredited sampler in the departmental quality system.
