Water Project Manager (Rye Brook, NY) (Finance)

We are offering a unique opportunity to join our Rye Brook, New York office, providing high-quality wastewater and water engineering services to municipal clients nationwide.

The successful candidate will be a motivated, growth-oriented professional capable of managing project teams through all project phases, including planning, design, construction, start-up, and operations. You will mentor staff and support clients, working alongside engineers and our integrated electrical, structural, CAD, operations, and SCADA teams. You will participate in delivery system improvement programs and continuous learning initiatives. Who are we looking for:

You will primarily provide project management and engineering support on wastewater and drinking water projects. This role involves leading and collaborating with junior and mid-level staff, engaging with senior technical teams and leadership. The ideal candidate is technically proficient with experience in evaluating, planning, designing, and constructing municipal water systems, and engaging with stakeholders such as operators and public officials. Familiarity with issues related to master planning, treatment, distribution, and collection systems is preferred. You should be familiar with local and federal regulations and able to support marketing and proposals.

Location:

Rye Brook, NY (Hybrid)

Travel:

Yes, 10-20% within the Mid-Atlantic Region and Westchester County, NY

Projects may include:
  • Municipal wastewater systems, including collection infrastructure, pumping hydraulics, and treatment processes
  • Collection system assessments, design, and rehabilitation
  • Drinking water distribution capacity analysis and design
  • Water treatment system upgrades
  • Pumping station design and rehabilitation
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and execute wastewater and drinking water projects, leading multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with subconsultants
  • Determine project delivery approaches and partner with leadership on technical strategies
  • Track budgets, milestones, and deliverables
  • Use Woodard & Curran's Project Management Framework
  • Maintain proactive communication with teams and clients
  • Coordinate with external suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Visit sites for meetings and observations
  • Ensure project compliance and quality standards
  • Assist in staffing, guideline development, and training
  • Support business development efforts
Qualifications:
  • 8-15 years of consulting engineering experience
  • B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering; M.S. preferred
  • Registered Professional Engineer in New York or eligible for reciprocity
  • Strong project management skills and municipal water systems expertise
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in proposal writing and project scope development
Compensation:

$150,000 - $180,000 annually, with flexible, location-dependent pay based on experience and geographic differentials. Remote work options available.
