Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Water Engineering Technician to support planning, execution, and financial management of water infrastructure projects across West Texas. The role interfaces with project managers, EPC firms, consultants, and vendors to keep budgets, schedules, deliverables, and reporting on track.

The ideal candidate has education in engineering technology or related fields and 5+ years in engineering or industrial project support, with strong Excel and project-tracking skills to ensure

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, construction management, business or related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting engineering, construction, utility, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; experience with project tracking software.

Responsibilities

• Track project budgets, commitments, invoices, and forecasted expenditures.
• Maintain cost reports and monitor performance against budgets.
• Coordinate invoice review, vendor billing, PO tracking, and payment status with accounting and PM teams.
• Assist development of project cash flow forecasts and capex reporting.
• Identify budget variances and communicate concerns to project management.
• Maintain project schedules and milestone tracking for engineering, permitting, procurement, and construction.
• Track deliverables from EPC firms, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Support weekly project meetings with agendas, action items, and task tracking.
• Monitor schedule risks and communicate to project leadership.
• Maintain project dashboards and reporting tools.
