Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead large, complex water infrastructure programs in the Kansas City area. You will guide cross-disciplinary teams through all project phases, manage budgets, and report to executive leadership while fostering client relationships and driving program success.

The role requires extensive experience in municipal water/wastewater projects, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering programs over $250 million.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering/construction management or related field with 10 years of consulting experience.
• Experience leading multi-discipline teams on projects >$250M.
• Expert in budgeting, scheduling, and project controls.
• Strong client development and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of overall program strategic initiatives.
• Direct and coordinate a multi-disciplined team to maximize efficiency.
• Be client facing with senior leadership on reporting and issues resolution.
• Drive data collection, analytics, and reporting tools for program budgeting and schedule risk.
• Manage program budget and expenditures; achieve financial targets.
• Present monthly financial information to leadership; forecast revenue.
• Support cross-selling of engineering services across the organization.
• Recruit, develop, train, and retain staff; conduct performance evaluations.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the department; ensure QA/QC adherence.
• Enforce safety policies; comply with company standards.
