Job summary

The City of Fullerton is seeking a Water Production Operator to join our team responsible for safe and efficient operation of the city's water production and distribution systems.

The ideal candidate is safety-minded, dependable, and skilled with water operations, with strong problem-solving and communication abilities. You will work both independently and in a team, using SCADA to manage water system operations and ensure reliable service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of increasingly responsible experience in water system maintenance or operations.
• Valid Grade 3 Water Distribution Operator Certification and Grade 2 Water Treatment Operator Certification.
• Valid Class C California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor pumping plants and wells to regulate water flow between reservoirs.
• Use SCADA to control, monitor, and adjust water system operations.
• Inspect and maintain disinfecting and treatment equipment to meet water quality standards.
• Record system data and meter readings for reporting.
• Maintain facilities and grounds around pumping stations.
