Job description

Public Utilities is seeking an innovative and highly motivated maintenance worker responsible for groundskeeping, hedge trimming, grass cutting, weed eating, clearing fence lines, and large field maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Maintain and operate grounds maintenance equipment such as zero-turn mowers, tractors, and backpack blowers.
2. Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment, including oil changes, tightening nuts and bolts, cleaning, painting, and relabeling.
3. Conduct indoor maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical repairs, fixture repairs, and cleaning of buildings, electrical rooms, and mechanical rooms.
4. Handle outdoor maintenance including concrete work, roof repairs, structure repairs, and perform monthly inspections as assigned.
5. Assist remote site crews with equipment repairs, meter readings, and water treatment chemical administration.
6. Perform standby duties as assigned.
7. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Employees may be required to work outside regular hours in response to departmental needs or city-wide emergencies, including support work outside normal duties and locations.
