Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Water Treatment Plant & Distribution Operations.
• Basic knowledge of pump stations and water towers.
• Basic computer skills.
• Safe methods of lifting heavy objects and handling of chemicals.
• CDL Class B license required for Operator II (no restrictions).

Responsibilities

• Operator I: Backwash filters daily, calibrate meters, log chemical usage, respond to alarms, general cleaning, on-call rotation.
• Operator I: Install, inspect and maintain water meters and hydrants, update utility mapping, manage water service interruptions.
• Operator II: KDHE reporting, maintenance of water towers, storage tanks and pump stations, respond to alarms, on-call rotation, ensuring compliance.
• Peripheral duties: attend safety meetings, maintain good public relations, wear PPE, follow policies.
