Job summary

Rubidoux Community Services District seeks a Chief Plant Operator to supervise water production, treatment, storage, and distribution facilities. You will oversee groundwater wells, SCADA/telemetry, and regulatory compliance, guiding staff and coordinating with regulators and contractors.

Requires 6+ years in water operations with supervisory experience; SWRCB T3/T4 and D3/D4 certificates, CPR/First Aid, and CA licenses. Position entails on-site leadership, safety, and budget participation.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in water treatment, production, distribution, and regulatory compliance.
• At least two (2) years in lead or supervisory roles.
• SWRCB operator certificates required or in progress; valid CA driver licenses needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, assign, supervise, and review water operations staff.
• Oversee groundwater production, treatment, storage, and distribution facilities.
• Monitor pressures, storage levels, pumping efficiency, and water demands.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local drinking water regulations.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Lead investigations of water quality issues and operational incidents.
