Job summary

HYRUM CITY is accepting resumes for a full-time Water Operator (Level I, II, or III) in the Culinary Water & Irrigation Department. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with rotating on-call shifts, overtime, and emergency call-outs.

Levels I–III require Utah certification and licensing, with minimum heavy equipment experience and ability to operate GIS/SCADA tools. Snow removal duties and varying weather conditions are expected. Compensation is listed by level.

Qualifications

• Must obtain Utah Water Distribution Classification II within 24 months.
• Must possess a Utah Driver's License.
• Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Proficient with various software; GPS software preferred.
• Moderately heavy physical labor up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work in extreme hot and cold conditions.
• Be available for snow removal from October through April.

HYRUM CITY water operator – Level I, II, III

HYRUM CITY is accepting resumes for a full-time Level I, II, or III Water Operator in the Culinary Water & Irrigation Department. Candidates will be required to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with rotating on-call shifts, overtime, and available for emergency call outs.

Compensation

Level I – Salary Range $20.31 to $27.53 per hour for Level I

Level II – Salary Range $21.75 to $30.47 per hour for Level II

Level III – Salary Range $24.39 to $33.80 per hour for Level III

Level I Requirements

• Must be able to obtain Utah Water Distribution Classification Grade II or higher within twenty four months of employment.
• Must possess a Utah Drivers License.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in operating heavy equipment.
• Proficient with various software and preferred GPS software.
• Requires ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor lifting upto 75 pounds and able to twist, kneel, and bend for associated tasks performed in the field.
• Ability to work in extreme hot and cold environmental conditions.
• Be available for snow removal from October through April.

Level II Requirements

• Must possess a Utah Certified Water Systems Operator II or higher.
• Must have 2 years of experience in repairing water leaks and installing water lines.
• Must possess a Class B CDL.
• Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience with trackhoe and backhoe excavating around utilities; and operating a vac truck, snowplow; and other miscellaneous heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of proper barricading and signage requirements.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years experience with chlorination systems, wells, and PRV stations.
• Proficient with GIS software and SCADA systems preferred.
• Requires ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor lifting upto 75 pounds and able to twist, kneel, and bend for associated tasks performed in the field.
• Ability to work in extreme hot and cold environmental conditions.
• Be available for snow removal from October through April.

Level III Requirements

• Must be a Utah Certified Water Systems Operator III or IV Unrestricted.
• Must possess a Class B CDL.
• Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience with trackhoe and backhoe excavating around utilities; and operating a vac truck, snowplow; and other miscellaneous heavy equipment.
