Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer seeks a Site / Civil Engineer for our Raleigh, NC office, with occasional local/regional travel. The role covers hands-on layout planning, piping, grading, roadways, stormwater infrastructure, through to construction support.

3–6 years of experience in site/civil design and permitting is expected; FE status or PE license is advantageous, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D 2022, and BIM tools. Raleigh-based position with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years in design and regulatory permitting of site plans, drainage studies, stormwater systems, and erosion control.
• Experience in site/civil design and permitting for water/wastewater projects is advantageous.
• FE status or PE license is advantageous.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D 2022 for site layouts, grading and drainage.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop site layout plans including yard piping, roadways, grading, stormwater systems and paving for water/wastewater projects.
• Conceptual and preliminary design with field visits, data collection, alternatives analysis and technical reporting.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and contribute to modeling tasks.
• Coordinate with sub-consultants and ensure design integration.
• Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and design deliverables.
• Provide construction-phase support by reviewing submittals and RFIs.
• Site reconnaissance and field investigations.
