Job summary

WaterOne is seeking a Project Engineer to design and analyze water works projects, prepare plans and specifications, and generate cost estimates for contract documents. The role coordinates between WaterOne, engineering firms, developers, and governmental agencies, and supports construction management and inspections.

The Project Engineer will operate within either Distribution or Facilities Engineering to deliver water infrastructure projects, including relocation of mains or treatment facility

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
• Experience gained with engineering or construction-based internships.
• Thorough knowledge of engineering theory and practice.
• Proficiency in interpreting and developing engineering drawings for construction of water works improvements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask while meeting deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Performs design calculations, creates plans/specifications, generates cost estimates/schedules, coordinates easement or land acquisition, coordinates construction activities, and resolves construction related issues with supervision.
• Provides or assists with oversight of engineering consultants and construction contractors. Assist with the design, bidding, and construction process including reviews, submittals, pay estimates, change orders, and inspections.
• Maintains comprehensive project documentation. Provides progress updates highlighting challenges and solutions.
• Conducts complex data analysis, technical evaluations, studies, and field assessments. Provides recommendations with supervision based on sound engineering principles.
• Assists with resource planning and scheduling, project prioritization, and coordination with Divisions.
