Job summary

The City of Hillsboro Water Department is seeking a Project Engineer to lead capital improvement projects and provide technical engineering resources for the City, Joint Water Commission, and Barney Reservoir Joint Ownership Commission. PE license holders may be hired as Project Engineer; non-PE candidates may be considered as Engineering Associate (underfill).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 4 years of civil engineering design, project management or surveying experience.
• Oregon Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Oregon Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification and potential to obtain PE later.
• Possession of a valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital improvement projects from planning through construction and completion.
• Coordinate with City divisions, partner agencies, and consultants to meet project goals.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, and cost estimates.
• Communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders and the public.
• Support development services group with modeling fire-flows and analyzing proposals.
