Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is looking for a Water Exercise Instructor to lead aquatic exercise classes under the supervision of the Aquatics Director. The role promotes member wellness in a safe, enjoyable environment.

Requirements include being 18+, current certification (AEA or YMCA), and at least one year of group/water exercise experience preferred. The position uses a standard YMCA schedule and participates in trainings.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Current AEA Aquatic Fitness Professional or YMCA Water Fitness Instructor Certifications, or YMCA Aquatic Safety Assistant (YASA).
• At least one year of experience teaching group/water exercise preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, safe group water exercise classes.
• Builds authentic relationships with members and promotes YMCA engagement.
• Maintains records and attends trainings and meetings as scheduled.
