Job summary

The YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Water Exercise Instructor to lead safe and engaging water fitness classes at the McGrath Family YMCA in San Diego. You will greet participants, demonstrate proper form, and ensure modifications meet diverse fitness levels.

Responsibilities include safety monitoring, attendance tracking, and maintaining a welcoming environment while upholding YMCA policies and delivering high-quality sessions.

Qualifications

AEA Water Exercise certification or NCCA-certified water specialty with group exercise or personal training.
All job trainings within 90 days from date of hire.
CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from a recognized organization (ARC/AHA/ish) are required.

Responsibilities

Lead safe and effective water exercise classes with clear verbal and visual cues.
Greet participants and provide modifications for all fitness levels.
Monitor safety, correct techniques, and maintain a clean pool deck and workout area.
Deliver well-structured, engaging workouts; be punctual and professional as a YMCA representative.
Set up and breakdown class equipment within allotted time.
Foster community and support members in health goals.
