City of Murfreesboro is seeking an experienced civil engineer to oversee the Engineering division with a focus on operations & maintenance, water resource recovery, and regulatory compliance within the Water Department.

The role requires a PE license, a bachelor's degree in civil or related field, and a minimum of six years in a water engineering setting. The position involves managing staff, coordinating with development teams, and leading capital improvement projects.

Formación

• Requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, water resources engineering, environmental science or closely related field.
• Requires six (6) years of progressively responsible experience within a water engineering department.

Responsabilidades

• Oversees and manages Engineering Department; meets with development community regarding water/sewer capacity, water/sewer mainline extensions, and site plan reviews.
• Revises policies & procedures and standard construction specifications; assigns and supports department Inspectors.
• Creates sewer rehabilitation projects and manages the contracts and construction of the sewer mainline and manhole rehabilitation program; coordinates Operations and Maintenance.
• Supports operations & maintenance, wastewater treatment and water treatment plants; prepares service drawings and invitations to bid.
• Reviews and manages both City and TDOT Roadway Improvement projects for conflicts between existing and proposed infrastructure, coordinates with project engineers.
• Manages Engineering staff; provides guidance; handles disciplinary actions; maintains personnel records; conducts evaluations.
