Job summary

ms consultants, inc. invites you to join our Water Engineer Internship – Summer 2027.

You’ll work under a manager and mentor on live water resources projects across civil engineering domains, from design to field tasks, and gain hands-on experience in stormwater, hydrology, and site development. Ideal candidates are pursuing a civil engineering degree, detail-oriented with strong technical skills, and eager to contribute to quality control on client projects.

Responsibilities

• Support hydrologic, hydraulic, water quality, and geospatial evaluations.
• Support watershed and water quality assessments and BMP prioritization.
• Support the design efforts for water resources and site development projects.
• Support planning, design, construction, and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure and BMPs, LID, and green infrastructure.
• Support field work including environmental sampling and BMP inspections.

At ms consultants, you’ll work closely with an assigned manager and mentor on assignments related to your field of study to take your classroom learning to the next level. You’ll work on live projects supporting our clients with innovative solutions by overcoming real life design challenges.

What You'll Do:

• Supporthydrologic, hydraulic, water quality, and geospatial evaluations.
• Supportwatershed and water quality assessments and conventional aspects of watershed planning and BMP prioritization.
• Support the design efforts for a variety of water resources and site development projects.
• Support planning, design, construction, and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure and BMPs, low impact development projects, and green infrastructure practices.
• Support field work including environmental sampling and parameter collection, stormwater BMP inspection and maintenance, BMP retrofit assessments and stream evaluations.

What You'll Bring:

We are looking for an individual who is currently pursuing an Engineering based degree, enrolled in core classes, and is seeking employment in support of project work.

• Candidates should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or related field of study.
• Detail-oriented personality with strong technical skills.
• Attention to quality control.
