Delta Personnel, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to support municipal water and wastewater projects across Louisiana and the Gulf South.

You will participate in planning, analysis, design, permitting, and construction documentation, coordinating with agencies and clients. Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to support municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout Louisiana and the Gulf South.

The Water/Wastewater Engineer will participate in planning, analysis, design, permitting, construction documentation, construction administration, and client coordination for municipal infrastructure projects.

Projects may include water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, force mains, lift stations, pump stations, pipelines, storage facilities, and utility rehabilitation projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Design water treatment and wastewater treatment facilities and associated systems.
• Design water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, force mains, lift stations, pump stations, pipelines, storage facilities, and utility improvements.
• Perform engineering calculations, hydraulic calculations, and hydraulic analyses.
• Prepare engineering plans, specifications, technical reports, cost estimates, bid documents, and construction documents.
• Conduct field investigations, facility assessments, site visits, and existing-condition evaluations.
• Evaluate existing water and wastewater treatment processes and infrastructure.
• Develop recommendations for system rehabilitation, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
• Prepare permit applications and supporting engineering documentation.
• Coordinate permitting and regulatory requirements with local, state, and federal agencies.
• Provide construction administration and engineering support during construction.
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), and other construction documentation.
• Respond to contractor questions and coordinate engineering issues during construction.
• Participate in construction site visits, inspections, and project meetings.
• Coordinate with municipalities, regulatory agencies, contractors, consultants, project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, design coordination, and project delivery activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5–7 years of water and wastewater engineering experience.
• Experience with municipal water or wastewater infrastructure planning, analysis, or design.
• Experience with one or more of the following:
• Water treatment systems
• Wastewater treatment systems
• Wastewater collection systems
• Lift stations
• Pump stations and pumping systems
• Force mains
• Pipeline and utility infrastructure
• Storage facilities
• Experience performing engineering calculations and hydraulic analyses.
• Knowledge of hydraulic design principles, construction methods, engineering standards, and permitting requirements.
• Experience preparing engineering plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, or construction documents.

Licensure

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Candidates without an active PE license must be eligible and able to obtain PE licensure within the timeframe required for the position.
