Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water EIT in Alaska to support engineers in planning and design of water, wastewater, and water resources systems. You will prepare calculations, collaborate with project teams, and help develop construction documents and QA/QC processes.

You will work with BIM platforms and AI-enabled tools, gaining experience toward your Professional Engineer license while contributing to high-visibility water projects in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
• Interest or experience analyzing and designing water focused systems.
• Experience with production, simulation, and automation such as BIM systems, numerical modeling platforms, and other production tools.
• Microsoft Office experience.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and design of water, wastewater, and water resources systems under guidance.
• Prepare calculations, technical memoranda, reports, and construction documents.
• Support development of plans and specifications for infrastructure projects.
• Perform engineering analyses, modeling, and alternative evaluations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and environmental staff.
• Participate in project meetings and interact with clients and stakeholders.
• Support field investigations and construction phase services when applicable.
• Perform quality control reviews and contribute to QA/QC processes.
• Use design and production tools including BIM platforms, modeling software, and other engineering applications.
• Build data analysis and visualization solutions.
• Apply digital and AI-enabled tools to enhance project planning, coordination, and documentation.
