Job summary

The Village of Ruidoso is seeking a Water/Waste Water Maintenance Worker I to assist in the installation, repair and servicing of water mains, service lines, water wells, booster stations, water meters and sewer lines. This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week and on-call rotation to cover emergencies.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or Equivalent, a valid New Mexico driver’s license, and residency within 20 miles of Village limits; background checks and drug/alcohol testing

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must pass criminal history checks and drug/alcohol testing.
• Resident within 20 miles of Village of Ruidoso due to on-call duties.
• Valid New Mexico driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Installs, services, replaces, cleans and repairs water lines, sewer lines, meters, and related components.
• Repairs water line leaks, sets taps and places valves.
• Operates pipe locator; documents work requests and reports.
• Inspects taps and sewers and assists with hydrant maintenance.
• Responds to emergencies and on-call rotations; works flexible hours.
