Established in 1925, Water District 19 is the largest of the Group A water systems serving Vashon-Maury Island. We pump, treat, and deliver water from deep wells and surface water sources to nearly 1,500 water service connections.
The job requires operators to provide on-call duties (remain on-island while on-call), work independently as well as part of a team, and possess a willingness to learn new skills. The work can be physically demanding and is often performed outdoors in various weather conditions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in distribution system maintenance, operation, repair, and installation. The District will provide the training and education required to obtain Water Distribution Manager 2, Water Treatment Plant Operator 2, and Cross-Connection Specialist Certification.
