Job summary

The City of Sand Springs is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, repair, and service water distribution facilities in Sand Springs, OK. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Within 6 months: Class D ODEQ Waterworks Operator certification.
• Within 1 year: Class B CDL or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and repair of water lines and mains.
• Assist with installation of new service taps.
• Assist with line locates as needed.
• Assist with joining and fitting of pipelines and valves.
• Assist with repair of fire hydrants, valves, and service connections.
• Maintain pumps, lift stations, water towers and associated equipment.
• Prepare reports on work progress and other reports as assigned by foreman or superintendent.
• Maintain safe work environment by following procedures and safety rules.
• Maintain cleanliness of facility surroundings through mowing, weed eating, sweeping, mopping, and upkeep.
• On an as-needed basis, perform traffic control, repair streets and sidewalks, inform customers of interruptions, and collect water samples.
• Notify customers when assigned work affects service.
• Perform other duties, including assisting other departments.
