Job summary

HDR is seeking a data stewardship leader embedded in the Water Business Group to establish repeatable data practices and governance across projects. This role focuses on defining data, coordinating a network of SME expertise, and aligning data workflows with Water BG strategy.

You will lead change management, promote data integrity, and work with HDR's broader data teams to enable reliable models and AI use across services. This is a senior, strategy-forward role in Omaha.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading data-centric initiatives in large organizations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in water engineering or related industry is preferred.
• Proven ability to define, socialize, and govern data standards across multiple teams.
• Strong collaboration with leaders, operations, technical directors and marketing managers.
• Active participation in HDR’s employee‑owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Define and coordinate data standards across the Water Business Group to align with enterprise data practices.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions for engineering terms to support data models, reporting, automation, and AI use cases.
• Promote responsible data use, data quality, and reuse across systems and workflows.
• Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of data standards and tools across Water BG.
• Collaborate with data stewards, Enterprise Data Science, and Enterprise Data Operations.
• Ensure new tools fit the Water BG data strategy and governance.
