Job summary

Ohio EPA seeks a Data Analytics Specialist to organize, manage, and extract data from biological and water-quality databases at the Central Office in Columbus. You will build SQL reports and visualizations to support program performance and identify trends for decision-makers.

You will provide user support and training, lead special projects to improve efficiency, and collaborate with IT teams, contractors, and staff to strengthen information systems.

Qualifications

• 48 mos. exp. in data analytics or statistical analysis or research methods.
• OR completion of associate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; 30 mos. exp. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
• OR completion of undergraduate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; 24 mos. exp. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
• OR completion of graduate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; 12 mos. exp. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
• OR 36 mos. exp as a Data Analytics Associate, 66930.
• OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

• Work hands-on with biological and water-quality databases to organize, manage, and extract data.
• Build SQL-based reports and data visualizations to support program performance.
• Provide support and training to system users and staff.
• Lead for special projects that increase program efficiency; collaborate with contactors, IT teams and staff.
