City of Ventura, through Ventura Water, is hiring a Communications Specialist to develop and implement strategic communications, public relations, and community outreach initiatives. You will create engaging content across channels and support customer assistance programs, including enrollment and inquiries.

The role reports to the Ventura Water General Manager and involves coordinating events, public meetings, and education on water projects, rate studies, and VenturaWaterPure initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, plus two years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, media, PR, or communications.
• Experience in public relations, strategic communications, and community engagement.
• Strong writing and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, accessible messages.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement strategic communications, public relations, marketing, and community outreach initiatives.
• Create content for social media, websites, newsletters, press releases, presentations, and educational materials.
• Support customer assistance programs by outreach and enrollment assistance.
• Lead Ventura Water Outreach Task Force and coordinate events.
• Communicate information about water, infrastructure improvements, and VenturaWaterPure.
