Job summary

Cobb County Government is seeking a Civil Engineering Inspector to support the Water System operations within the Engineering and Records Division. The role involves on-site visits to active construction sites to ensure water, sewer, and stormwater utilities are installed per Cobb County codes and standards.

You will inspect materials, assess site conditions, and verify quantities against contracts while coordinating with contractors, agencies, and County staff.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; supplemented by three years of experience in construction inspection or public works.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to perform light physical tasks and lift 12-20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction projects for quality, safety, and code compliance.
• Coordinate pre-construction activities and site assessments.
• Communicate with contractors and coordinate with agencies and utilities.
• Prepare reports, pay applications, and project documentation.
• Investigate citizen complaints and resolve issues.
