Job summary

The City of Glendale, CA Water Engineering Division is seeking a Civil Engineer with (2) years of civil engineering experience, including water engineering. The ideal candidate will supervise design work, ensure compliance with city standards, and manage major water-related projects.

The role requires a California PE license, a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, and a valid CA driver’s license. Public utility experience is highly desirable and the position offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Two years professional engineering experience in Civil Engineering work, including one year in water engineering.
• Experience in public utilities is highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Registration as a Civil Engineer with the California State Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
• Valid Class C California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Performs difficult or complex professional engineering design work.
• Supervises the water service planning or design group within the Water Engineering Division.
• Manages major projects: designs, specifications, plans, estimates, and reports for water utility systems.
• Reviews and checks plans, specs, and computations for water service planning and capital projects.
• Ensures conformance with GWP standards and municipal ordinances.
• Supervises and assists in checking plans for private developments.
