Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking an Engineering Technician II in the Water Department, Customer Care Division. You will review plans and permits for public utility installations, advise developers, and coordinate with engineers, contractors and city staff to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

Associate degree in engineering or related field.
Two years of increasingly responsible technical engineering experience in drafting, project design, plan review or land surveying.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Read engineering plans, maps and related documents for water/sewer projects.
Interpret city ordinances and policies for new and redevelopment work.
Review plans to ensure conformance with water/sewer standards.
Analyze development issues, gather data and recommend solutions.
Serve as liaison to city departments, builders, developers and customers.
Communicate effectively to deliver consistent customer service per city ordinances.
Provide complex support to managerial staff.
