Job summary

The Kingsley Association in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Contracted Water Aerobics Instructor to lead engaging group water fitness classes that improve cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, balance, and mobility. You will tailor workouts for varying abilities, promote safe technique, and create a welcoming, inclusive class environment.

As a contracted instructor, you’ll maintain current certifications, coordinate with Kingsley staff on scheduling and equipment, and support accessible wellness

Qualifications

• Current water aerobics/aquatic fitness or related group fitness certification is required.
• Previous aquatic fitness instruction experience preferred.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Experience working with diverse community populations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead scheduled group water aerobics and aquatic fitness classes.
• Develop safe, effective, and engaging class routines.
• Provide modifications for participants with varying abilities and fitness levels.
• Promote proper technique, water safety, and safe use of aquatic fitness equipment.
• Maintain a professional, welcoming, and encouraging class environment.
• Communicate scheduling, attendance, equipment, or participant concerns with Kingsley staff.
• Maintain appropriate aquatic fitness certification, CPR/AED certification, and professional liability insurance as required.
• Perform services in accordance with the independent contractor agreement and Kingsley policies.

The instructor will lead group water aerobics classes designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility, balance, mobility, and overall wellness. The Water Aerobics Instructor will be responsible for preparing and leading classes appropriate for varying fitness and ability levels, providing modifications as needed, promoting safe movement in the aquatic environment, and creating a welcoming and supportive experience for participants. The instructor will support Kingsley’s commitment to providing accessible, community-centered health and wellness programming.
