Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Watch design team.

You will work with Industrial Design, Electrical, Antenna, Reliability, and Marketing to define and realize the next generation of wearable devices. You will lead multi‑disciplinary design efforts, build prototypes for validation, perform failure analysis, and partner with vendors in Asia and internal teams to ship high‑quality parts across size and materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals (heat transfer, mechanics of materials).
• Understanding of tight‑tolerance fabrication and assembly techniques; functional dimensioning and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and statistical tolerance analysis techniques.
• CAD and drawings (GD&T).
• Working knowledge of FEA.
• Application of statistical tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects in a multi‑functional setting and deliver outstanding design solutions.
• Build prototypes for design validation and drive failure analysis.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to realize parts across various production stages.
• Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams to balance multiple priorities on demanding schedules.
